Tis the season to be pregnant fa la la la laaaaa la la la laaa

Hi my lil guy! You are getting so big and really packing some serious punches & kicks now! We’re just about 24 weeks now and you are a busy guy in there it seems. Your “magic hour” where you tend to be the most active is around 9pm or so. A night owl like your Mom I suppose. You are kicking hard enough now that your Dad can feel you when he puts his hand on my belly! I can even see your kicks move my belly, it doesn’t get old, I love it!

Since this is our 1st Christmas with you (brewing in my belly), we decided it was the perfect time to start a new holiday tradition. We went and cut down our Christmas tree for the 1st time at a local tree farm! It was fun walking around the grounds and looking at all of the Christmas trees at different stages of development. Little tiny baby trees mixed in rows next to bigger, older Mom & Dad type trees. Your Dad & I talked about you the whole time. We are excited to see what you will think of all of this when we take you with us next year to pick out your very own Christmas tree.

Here we are with “the” tree smiling so stinking hard, all because you are with us.

We are so grateful for your presence. We don’t take one moment of your life for granted, we never will. That is part of your sisters life, memory, light & her gift to all of us. Our time here is short so we must do all that we can to enjoy every moment.

If you are wondering how my quirky/traumatized mind set has been lately all and all I’d say it’s dulled down a bit. It likes to rear it’s ugly head from time to time, like when I wake up in the morning and I’m waiting for you to kick me hello. My wheels start to turn but usually by the time I’m eating breakfast you’ll give me a jab. Sometimes your Dad worries (he’s just as bad as I am he just hides it a little better) and he’ll ask me “How is he? Is he kicking?” which puts me in a panic mode where I start poking at you looking for reassurance. You are usually very happy to poke me back and I think “What a good boy listening to his Mama like that!”. We’ve both become germaphobes in the last month or so (helloooo flu season!). Your Dad douses me with hand sanitizer every time we go to the store or anywhere in public really. I have to laugh about it because I know we look and sound like a bunch of weirdo’s but I know that it’s pretty typical stuff for parents in our shoes. We’re hanging in there buddy & looking forward to March when we get to meet you!! Love you!!!
